FAMILIES OR FRIENDS OF SOMEONE SEEKING HELP
If you are a family member or friend of someone who may need help, know that you can play a very important role in helping someone get the help they need to get better. It is often friends and family that can see the signs and symptoms that affect a person’s daily life and they are also the people that a person who is suffering mental health problems will listen to.
At Peak Behavioral Health, we provide many types of mental health help and behavioral health programs and we will work together to determine the best program for your friend or loved one.

HERE ARE A FEW TIPS YOU MAY WANT TO CONSIDER:
- Explain to the person needing help the reason for concern in a caring manner while staying calm.
- Listen to what a friend or loved one has to say. Building trust often starts with listening to what the other person has to say.
- Be available to help and support them. Offer to take them for the assessment and ask if they would like you to be present during the assessment.
- Stay in regular contact with the person who needs help. This will not only offer the person the comfort of knowing that you are there to comfort them, but it will allow you to help monitor the situation in case they need immediate help.
